Drafting contracts that are clear and enforceable

Contract litigation can often be avoided if the original contract is drafted with care and attention to detail. Vague language and the failure of the contracting parties to anticipate circumstances and expectations that might give rise to disputes are frequent causes of contract disputes. When I draft a contract for a business, such as a service agreement, an employment contract, or a supplier agreement, clients can be assured that I will work hard to make the contract language clear and enforceable under Maryland contract law.

Mediation is a cost-effective way to resolve business disputes

Another frequent cause of contract litigation is non-payment or other performance failures. Whatever the cause of the dispute, my first strategy focuses on mediation or negotiation. These methods are usually less expensive than full-blown litigation, an important consideration for many of my clients. However, if alternative dispute resolution techniques are not appropriate or do not work as hoped, I undertake litigation to be sure my client’s rights are protected and any breach is rectified.
